The Student Advisory Council is a select group of K12-powered students from around the country who serve as advisors for their peers as well as brand ambassadors for K12 and their schools. Through this paid internship opportunity, they provide valuable feedback and insight about their experiences with career readiness education.

I chose the Health Sciences career pathway. Attending a Stride Career Prep program allows me to take classes in my field of interest. I get to attend classes that prepare me for the future while learning the things I love!

My dream job has always been that of trauma surgeon. Many loved ones in my life have passed away due to trauma-related incidents, and I would love to be able to save others’ loved ones. Helping people is something I am so passionate about and I surely could not see myself doing anything else.

Hello, my name is Cheyenne Niemann. I am a 17-year-old junior at Michigan Great Lakes Virtual Academy (MGLVA). This is my fourth year at MGLVA. I appreciate the virtual learning environment because it helps me stay focused. Being in the marketing career path, I am able to complete courses in my intended field each semester. I decided to become a student advisor so that I could gain real-world work experience. I am a competitive dancer and have been dancing for 14 years. I am a member of the National Honor Society and I love to travel. My dream is to one day explore the world!
